Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains what information this website collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. This website is independently operated by concerned residents and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by the Town of New Scotland.
What we collect
When you fill out the sign-up form on this site, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your neighborhood or street (optional — you don't have to provide this)
- Any comment you choose to leave (optional)
We do not collect payment information, and we do not require you to create an account or log in to use this site.
How we store it
Form submissions are stored using a secure third-party form service, managed by the site's organizer. We do not run our own database or server for this data.
How we use it
We use the information you submit to:
- Send occasional updates about the Wormer Road BESS proposal, including news, meeting dates, and ways to get involved
- Understand how much local support exists for this effort (for example, when speaking with the Town Board or press, we may reference the number of residents who have signed up — but we will not share your individual name, email, or comment publicly without your permission)
We will not sell, rent, or trade your information to any third party.
Who can see it
Your submission may be accessible to the organizer and other individuals the organizer authorizes to assist with managing the site or advocacy effort.
Your choices
- Providing your neighborhood/street and a comment is entirely optional.
- You can ask us to remove your information at any time by emailing . We retain sign-up information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. When the information is no longer needed, we may delete or securely dispose of it.
- You can stop receiving updates from us at any time by replying to any email we send, or by contacting us directly.
Other data collection
This site is hosted on Netlify. Netlify and other service providers may automatically process technical information associated with requests to the site, such as IP address, browser type, device information, and timestamps, for purposes such as security, reliability, and service operation. The organizer does not use this information to identify individual visitors, build advertising profiles, or engage in behavioral advertising.
